Developed in the 1950s the Hunter is a subsonic British jet aircraft built by Hawker (BAE). The single-seat Hunter entered service as a fighter aircraft in 1954, and later operated in fighter-bomber and reconnaissance roles. Until the early 1990s the RAF used two-seat variants for secondary roles including training. The Hunter served with 21 other air forces and after fifty years the final Hawker Hunters were retired from active service by the Lebanese Air Force in 2014.
